DR. Tara Holland, Board Certified Pediatrician 

I love pediatrics!  All day long I get to help children and parents learn about their growing bodies and how to stay healthy.  I get to talk about princesses and super heroes while calming the nervous child during an exam.  I get to help a new mother gain confidence in her ability to care for and love her new child well.  Best of all I get high fives and hugs from my patients who have the biggest hearts.

Many of my patients say that they truly appreciate how I explain what I'm doing and seeing during an exam.  Parents have told me they feel heard after our interactions.  Communication about what to expect or how to better understand a medical condition are important.  I have had many mother's also comment on how well I am able to engage their child to make the visit as tear-free as possible.

One of my greatest strengths as a pediatrician is that I am a clinician and mom too.  I have been through the struggles of breastfeeding and sleepless nights with a newborn,  I understand how challenging it can be to manage a toddler.  Filling the roles of both mom and doctor have given me the ability to provide practical experience along with medical knowledge to help patients succeed.

In my free time.....outside of helping patients, I love spending time with my family.  My husband and I have four daughters ranging from 19 to 8 years old, who keep us BUSY with their interests in volleyball, soccer, music and theatre.   I enjoy cheering them on in everything they do.  We also have a cat, Lily and a dog, Lucy.  In my free time (ha) I like listening to live music, catching a hockey game, or serving in the Children's Department at my local church.  My mornings start with a cup of coffee and a drive to Marshall , where I enjoy listening to music or podcasts along the way.
